Advocates for Colorectal Education has been
awarded a $1200 Speaking of Women’s Health Community
Investment grant from Medica.
The grant was secured to enhance the lives of women through
our mission of education, advocacy and support. We believe: 1.) women need to be informed of
their risk of colon cancer, 2.) women need encouragement to ask for their
own screening and that of others, 3.) women value same-gender support
to guide them on their postoperative journey.
Since education is the key to prevention and /or easing the path of recovery
from colorectal cancer surgery, the money is being used to develop and print
educational materials and to establish/maintain our web site, www.acemn.org.
We are proud to be recipients of this award, which is underwriting the entire
Winter 2004 issue of the Advocate , featuring women’s health. |
